Hello My Stampers!
I SHARE MY PASSION FOR STAMPS, INK & PAPER WITH A SPECIAL FLOCK OF LADIES CALLED THE "STRAY DUCKLINGS". WHENEVER WE'RE TOGETHER, FEATHERS FLY BECAUSE OF ALL THE FUN WE HAVE!!
Welcome again to our Stray Ducklings monthly Blog Waddle! We are a group of Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators and we want to share our cards made ... this month's theme is NEW items from the NEW 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. For a complete list of our ducklings waddling, see below. You came from Mary's blog... next stop is Debbie's blog. Click on any picture below to enlarge.
I chose Serene Garden stamps, bundled with Garden Scene Framelits Dies. If you look closely at the sample, you will see two shades of Olive Garden in the leaves and stems. I used a Stampin' Write Marker to color the veins, but chose to watercolor the leaves, which I think better matched the color of the card stock.
I also used one of our very new products, Big Shot Embossing Mats, found on page 221 of our NEW 2018-2019 Annual Catalog -- I searched many places (both online and in store) and did not find such a package deal of THREE pieces. Your favorite Framelits, Thinlits, and Edgelits dies can do more when paired with this set! Use with dies that have decorative ejection holes for additional embossing. Or use with cutting dies to emboss instead of cut. Includes Impressions Pad, thin silicone rubber mat, and thick silicone rubber mat. Here I used a framelit from the Garden Scene Framelits set that matches the stamp. C@@L!
The two silicone pieces give you the option to lightly impress your card (as on the left) or give it a deeper impression (as on the right) -- your choice. As you see above, I chose the deeper impression.
When I watercolor, I like to use my markers, rubbed on any thing plastic, then pick up the color with our Aqua Painters found on page 203. It is a much easier way for me. When using the Aqua Painters, you just need a very light squeeze to start the water flow, then let the brush do the rest. You will want a piece of scratch paper to dab off any excess water and to check your color before applying to your project. If switching colors, simply wipe off brush on scratch paper.
