WOW!!! I am soooooooo ecstatic!!! I am moving rather slowly today -- the day after my Stamp For A Cause was finally held --
but what a deep down feeling of a huge, HUGE complete success I have
deep down in my heart. The
slogan I have been using with my signature -- We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by
what we give. Winston Churchill -- really does say it all!
A very BIG, huge, H-U-G-E Thank You!!! to
Julie D, Kathy V, and Marty C!!! I couldn't have done
it without each of YOU!!!
Another very special THANK YOU!!! to the following for
their donations of cards and/or door prizes! Bonnie A, Jacque J, Julie D, Kathy V, Liza
O, Lori H, Marty C, Nikki L, and Sue K.
Another very special THANK YOU!!! to Jacque J and
Julie W (who also brought a friend) -- a couple more of my StampAttics demo friends -- for coming to help get our
cards made for our troops! Among our WONDERFUL customers and friends
who attended, we also had three new friends from Galesburg, thanks to
our local papers printing my flyer for FREE!
And yes, yet another very special THANK YOU!!! to Julie D who also had the most customers who attended and one of them,
Teresa S, even baked goodies and punch for us as well! Yum!!! Also, Julie's
daughter, Jordan, was there who also played a HUGE help in our operation, Stamp For A Cause,
to get all these cards ready to ship over to our troops!!!
I will cherish this day... forever and forever. And now... DRUM
ROLL PLEASE... together, from the bottom of our hearts,
all 19 of us in attendance on Saturday, June 5th, here in the heart of Abingdon,
Illilnois, together we finished up -- individually packaging a complete
card with envelope -- with a GRAND TOTAL OF 2,000 CARDS!!! Woo-Hoo!!!
What can I say??? I was completely overwhelmed by the satisfaction that each of
us felt in what we were doing. Everyone who came asked me to make sure
to let them know when I was going to do this again. I don't think I have
ever, ever felt this satisfied -- with the exception of maybe after
the birth of each of our two sons -- after our day was over with my
Stamp For A Cause event to support From Our Hearts (info can be found at
http://www.fromourhearts.info),
which in turn supports our troops overseas!!!
Want to see what 2,000+ cards look like? Here are all
boxes of cards that I arranged this morning.
Although we had a very
stormy night around us last night, right after I arrived home around
7:30-ish, this is what the sun is shining on in my dining room today!
This wonderful event began at 9:00 am, held at the Abingdon Banking Center (which they, too, also donated the rental to and their custodian, Doug, even set all of our tables up for us!!!) But it all really, really started around 7:00 am, after Julie D., daughter Jordan,
Marty, Kathy V. and myself totally unloaded my van -- my very stuffed
full van, full of most of our supplies. Whew! Unfortunately, I failed to
document when I reached my goal of 1,000 cards. But, we did take note of our 1500th card which was packaged at 4:00 pm and also is
pictured as well, being held by Teresa S.
Also pictured above are Carol U, Emma C, Chris S, and Julie D. This marked us reaching
my goal times 1-1/2... Woo-Hoo! This is also when we pretty much
diminished our supplies that were available. What a day! How very
grateful I am to have sooooooooo many wonderful friends
And yes, indeed, I will be planning another one of these events in the
Fall! So gals, listen up please,
pack up your cards and card fronts that you no longer need, that are
just sitting around there collecting dust, and get them to me ASAP. I
will pick up any and all cards you can donate if you are within a 60 mile radius from Abingdon,
Illinois 61410. If you are out of that radius, and still would
like to donate them to From Our Hearts, you can send them to me, or you can mail them directly to From
Our Hearts -- please see their web site to see where you can ship them
to at http://www.fromourhearts.info
. You, too, can finally use them for a GOOD cause to help Support Our
Troops! from the bottoms of YOUR hearts!
THANKS SO VERY VERY MUCH
TO EVERYONE!!!
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!
