Nothing says summertime like flowers and butterflies. My first card uses a new set called Butterfly Wishes. I stamped off on the flowers using the same color of Highland Heather like I used to stamp the butterfly. Inspired by Bee.

My second card is definitely #simplestamping ... it has one stamp on the front and another for the inside verse. The rest is simple papers and ribbons. LOVE It! Inspired by Amy F.

I found this Double Step Block Card Template on Facebook and just had to try it! I LOVE it!!! And since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided to make this for Mikey. Hope he likes it! And it lays flat! The idea came from a video which shows easy-peasy directions thanks to Sam at Mixed Up Craft. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/_Y3WJXplX6Q Isn't it just stinkin' CUTE!?!?!

This card is a large card measuring 7-1/2 x 6 when flat. But have no fear... with our Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board, you can make an envelope in just minutes! All you need is a 10-3/4" square of designer series paper or card stock and slip it in the Envelope Punch Board at 4-7/8 for the first punch. Continue around the other 3 sides and Wha-la!!!

Rectangle Stitched Framelits... Tips

I love, Love, LOVE our Stitched Rectangle Framelits. But, they can be tough on our cutting plates for our Big Shot. (NOTE: click on any image to enlarge.)

I have a couple of tips for you. Now I admit, the above plate was not a new plate before I started using our double stitched framelits. But, by the time I got a few cards made, using 3 of the framelits on each card, my plate was really cut into. This allows your colored card stock to leave little bitty pieces into those cuts, which then allows it to pop into your next white pieces that you are cutting.

Then I saw this tip on Facebook by Cathy R. By using a page protector on top of your cutting plate, it will help your plate from becoming cut into so bad so soon. You will still get cutting marks, but not near as bad.

Also, when using a framelit or a thinlit with a straight side, if you tilt the straight edge a bit, it will give you a better cut. It is like a speed bump going into the Big Shot. If you hit it straight on, it does not have as good a chance of a "straight", good cut. I have learned this tip through Sizzix and The Stamps of Life.

Here is what the page protector looked like after running the framelits through 29 times.

Here is what my new cutting plate looked like after the 29 cuts. It still has cuts, but not near so bad. Give it a try... I think you will like it!
